Comparative Spending on National Defense and Healthcare
Obama wants to cut military spending while simultaneously pushing for massively expanded healthcare spending (i.e. universal/ socialized health care). With two ongoing wars, mounting nuclear tensions with North Korea and Iran and increasing unemployment at home, you might think that military spending would be the largest American government expenditure. Certainly, Obama made a point in the election of citing Bush's military spending as a means for broadly discounting "fiscal conservatism." But do you know how our military spending actually compares to our healthcare spending?
